Why Loopstore exists

A designer spends years building a following. They write patterns people love, answer questions at eleven at night, and fix a mistake in round 34 for someone who has already frogged it twice. Then the platform changes its fees, or its search, or its rules about what a pattern is — and the list of people who trusted them turns out to belong to somebody else.

Loopstore starts from the opposite end. Your shop sits at your address. Your buyers are your buyers, exportable on any Tuesday you like. You are the merchant on every sale, so the money is yours before it is ever ours.

Memberships, not just downloads

Selling a PDF earns once. A membership earns every month and gives the makers who already love your work a way to say so. Most pattern platforms treat that as somebody else’s problem; it is the reason this one exists.

What we take

8% of a sale, on patterns and memberships alike, and nothing monthly. Stripe’s processing fee is yours either way, because you are the merchant and that is how being the merchant works. There is no third number hiding somewhere.

Where we are

Early. The shop, memberships and watermarked downloads are being built first, with a small group of designers helping shape them before anyone else is invited. The marketplace comes later, once there are enough shops in it to be worth browsing.
